How Do Inlays & Onlays Work?
Inlays and onlays fit into your tooth like a filling, but are milled restorations like a crown. Dr. Black will first prepare your tooth by removing decay or the old filling that needs replacement. After gently cleaning the area, we’ll take an impression from which your handcrafted inlay or onlay will be created. We’ll provide you with a temporary inlay or onlay until the lab delivers the final restoration. Then you’ll simply return to our office for a second appointment to cement your inlay or onlay into position.
